Yoga At Harmony Hill
Wednesdays at 9:30AM to 10:45AM and Thursdays at 4:30PM to 5:45PM
at our Great Hall. Participants can learn and practice basic yoga techniques,
including breathing, stretches and yoga postures. Both classes teach basic
yoga to increase flexibility, strength, and ability to relax, and are suitable for
all skill levels. We provide mats and props. The classes are for all levels and
drop-ins are welcome. Rate is $10 per class or they can sign up for a 10
session pass for just $80.

Oktoberfest at Alderbrook Clubhouse “Smashing Success!”

Oktober Fest was held at the Alderbrook Clubhouse on September 27th
and was a smashing success. Approximately 100 people enjoyed
German music played by “Special Delivery”, a local jazz band, and
dinner that included bratwurst, sauerkraut, and German potato salad.
Many were treated to face painting, fortune telling and raffle prizes.
Alderbrook’s Activities Committee members, Pam Kurpius, Kayrene Davis,
Barb McDonald, and Dee Bishop planned a party that was fun for all.

OysterFest 2009

MASON COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS

Much to do, taste, sip and hear at this years Oysterfest!

The OysterFest makes its annual two-day appearance this
weekend and seafood lovers are salivating as they wait for
the gates at the Mason County Fairgrounds to open at 10:00
am on Saturday.

Admission is $5 per person, with military members in uniform
addmitted free. Parking is also free.

Sponsored by the Skookum Rotary Club of Shelton, the two-day
festival features an oyster shucking competition where contestants
compete for West Coast Oyster Shucking Championship titles.

But the oyster shucking is just one aspect of OyesterFest. There’s
the annual cook-off featuring amatuer and professional chefs vying for
prize money and the title of OyserFest Cook-off Champion.

OysterFest also features exhibits, including touch tanks, model ships,
local shellfish and water-quality displays and an electrical-safety
display by PUD 3. Also on tap will be and art and photo competition.

There’s plenty for children and adults to see. For youngsters there will
be a kids fishing pool, football toss, putt-putt golf course, and pony rides
and games.

Meanwhile, there’s lots of entertainment lined up to keep festival goers, well,
entertained. Various musical groups will be playing on stage, but most of all,
there is the food. Seafood lovers will be in paradise! From bacon-wrapped
oysters, traditional baked salmon, Indian fry bread, steamer clams, grilled
halibut tacos, local corn on the cob, smoked sockeye salmon on cream cheese
bagels and much more!

Adults 21 and over will be able to taste microbrew beer and wine.

Three Day Golf Expo – A Success!

Alderbrook Properties participated in the first ever Golf Fest
Northwest, a three day golf expo that was held at the Seattle
Convention and Trade Center. With beautiful weather, it was
uncertain if there would be many in attendance, as those interested
would most likely rather be out golfing than inside at a trade show.
The sun didn’t dissuade the die hard golfers who came out anyway,
and they were rewarded! Attendees received many gifts and prizes
just for walking through the door. Once inside, over 100 exhibitors
were on hand to demo the latest golf products, equipment and services.
Alderbrook Properties held drawings every hour and had 21 lucky winners
who each won a set of Golf Passes to the beautiful Alderbrook Golf Club.

On Sunday, a vacation golf package for two to Maui was won by an
18 year-old by sinking a 50 yard putt in a putting contest held by
Sporting Travel and Tours of Kirkland. The winner said he was going
to bring his dad with him on the vacation.
